Goin' to the Fair!

I went to the fair last weekend and had a BLAST!!!! I went with my new roomies Scott and Nikki. It was so much fun! We visited the horses, watched some lame dogs catching Frisbees, pet baby goats, ate fried food, visited the DeLorean and Herbie again , watched my very first horse race, and then watched the Gary Allen concert. I took lots of pictures and my favorite part (as usual) was eating a bloomin' onion. mmm..... so yummy. I want another one just thinking about it!

The first pictures are the Hollywood exhibit. I loved it!

This is Tink's costume from 'Hook'. Pretty sweet....but poor Tink~ no more wings....

Mini Doc Oc's Sphere

Me with Tow Mater! I love him for his body!

Woohoo!! The DeLorean again!! Save the clock tower!!

The Flux Capacitor! Can you feel the power!

Hover Board!! Go Mattel!

Me with Herbie! What a cutie!!

Indy's crystal skull alien!

There was a spot before walking into the horse race track where they were pimping out Sea Lions.

For only $5.00 you too can have a kiss from a Sea Lion!

Then it was off to the races. This was the first time both Nikki and I had ever been to a horse race so it was pretty exciting. For the first race Nikki predicted that the brown horse would win~ all were brown but 2~ When the race started both Nikki and I were shouting for the horse to win. Not any specific horse....just "Go horse!! Run horse!!" Then the guy standing next to us started to shout for number 7 to win so we joined in. The next race Nikki predicted the tri-fecta (I am sure that is spelled wrong, however I don't care enough about racing to find out how it is supposed to be spelled...) of number 6, 2, and the brown horse. She was wrong about both 6 and 2, but got the brown horse right! Here are some pictures of the good times!

Pic of the track high up!

We were standing at the finish line

The bugler....cool clothes!

The almost photo finish!

Finally, at the end of the night we stuck around for the Gary Allen concert. He is hot and puts on a great show! It was good times with good people!

Those cute boys!!

I babysat for the boys that I am going to nanny this weekend and got some cute pics that I just have to post! They are so cute and so much fun to be around! I watched them this morning and Luke (this youngest one) wanted me to take pictures of him being batman with his pirate sword. ;) what a cutie pie! So here he is....
Then I took this pic of Trey during his homework break. He did such a great job with his homework!! He is a spelling champ!

For lunch I made them corndogs (healthy I know!) and peas. Trey didn't want to eat his peas and asked why he had to eat them.... knowing that the "because it is good for you" speech would not work I simply said "because I am mean". He said "but I don't like peas and you put butter on them and I don't like butter on my peas" to which I responded "That is why you have to eat them. I know you don't like them and I am mean. I love to make you eat things that you don't like!! Wa-hah-hah-hah!!!" He laughed and then ate up all his peas. It was fun.

Ok...well I am going to the fair tonight with my roomie Scott and Nikki and some of her friends...

I will post pictures soon!

Suessical the Musical

So....I know it has been a little while since I updated you all..... and since I know that you all sit rivited to your computer screens waiting to hear about my daily life I am so sorry!!! ;)
Suessical the Musical.... in one word... AWESOME!!! I absolutly love any and all Dr. Seuss books but Horton Hears a Who is my favorite above and beyond all the rest! This play was mainly focused around this book. It was so much fun! The costumes were minimal and perfect! I went with Chris and Rachel and completely enjoyed myself!

Cute program and ticket....

Cute Stage Scenery

I also thought I would throw in some new pics that I recieved of the bachelorette party....just 2.

I saw the Flux Capacitor!!!

So.... I know that not everyone is quite as cool as me and gets invited to the unveiling of an exhibit that will be at the state fair a day before the rest of the public gets to see it....but for you unfortunate folks it's ok. I took some pics of the De Lorean. I also got a pic of the flux capacitor.

The DeLorean from the side!

See the flux capacitor!!
Proof. It is the real DeLorean!
Ok, so I am not all that cool. Anyone could have shown up and seen the exhibit, but it was really cool. Disney animator Harrison Ellenshaw was there signing his artwork, The original Herbbie was there, the prison wagon from Planet of the Apes, and LOTS of georgus Disney art work. There was also a replica of the submarine from Indiana Jones (I honestly don't remember when there was a sub on any of the Jones movies, but I will roll with it...)

Some art by Harrison Ellenshaw

It really was lots of fun (although very hot!) and I think that I will go back during the fair to take some more pictures (I really like the fair too...)

And now I must go....I am off to see Seussical! I will write about it after I see it... hopefully it will be good!

New Job

So.... I am leaving my current job in about a month. I am excited for the new nanny position that I am taking. But, I am VERY worried that my current boss, Dawn, will be hurt. I LOVE my current job and Dawn has given me great opportunities that I would have never gotten anywhere else. She has been the best boss anyone could ask for. I love working for her and after I get my degree, I would love to return to her company and work for her again. I really hope that she understands that I am only leaving so that I can deal with all the changes in my personal life and to go to school full time. Before Matt dropped the divorce bomb we were planning on my dropping to part time and going to school full time. However, now I don't think that I can go to school full time and work at HOPE full time while giving it my all. I want to make sure that I get my degree as soon as I possibly can. I also want to make sure that if I am working at HOPE I am giving my all to my clients. I know that I can only do one or the other. I hope that Dawn will understand and know that all I have for her is the utmost respect.

My new job is a nanny position caring for two little boys. It will be much easier and when I am off work and at home I will only need to be doing homework. That way I will be able to focus on school work and getting good grades so I can get my degree!! Woohoo!!! I start on September 13th. I will post pictures of the boys when I get some....

As for the temple update.... I am setting up a meeting with my Bishop next Sunday to see what he says. My mom seems to think that if one gets divorced then they can not go to the temple for a year. My understanding is that I didn't break any covenants and Matt is the one that was not willing to work on the marriage so I don't know why I would be put on probation.... whatcha think??? I guess we will find out.

Other updates.... Nikki, Rachel and I have all decided that we need to take at least a 4 day weekend and go to Yosemite. I have never been and it is on my list of things to do within a year. I am also going to get my passport so that I can go and visit my brother in Malaysia. I am going to see where he is going to be for christmas and see if I can join him. I am really excited to get my passport. My plan is to have the money saved for it by the end of next month. WOOHOO!!!

Rachel's Parties

Well, the weekend is now over. (I know it was over three days ago... but I haven't had the time to write recently). I have to say that Rachel's parties were both a HUGE success!!! We had her bridal shower on Friday and played lots of great games that Nikki researched and set up. I have to say that Nikki did an amazing job putting together some awesome games that I had never heard of (ex-husband names in a balloon and writting love letters to Rachel from Chris using a set list of items- congrats to Dawn for winning that one). She also put together some awesome gift baskets for teh person with the most points and the person with the least points. The winner- Jacquie- got a basket of spa lotions and such. The loser- Dawn- got a gift basket with some really terrible movies like boogie man and the greatest hits of Bette Midler and Kenny G. it was a great time and lots of fun!

The Bachelorette party was also awesome thanks in most part to Nikki once again! We did a scavenger hunt because Rachel is a gianormous fan of scavenger hunts and usually writes one for all of her friends to participate in every year but never get's to participate herself. So this time she had to figure out all of the clues to get her supplies that she would for that night. We got facials, Cheryl taught us lots of things about make-up with Mary-Kay, we ate out at Rachel's favorite mexican restraunt (where I was told on how great my hair and eyes complimented each other and looked amazing and I got asked out on a date for coffee...but turned him down because I am not divorced yet and would feel like I was cheating even though he is gone), then we went to Rachel's house to get ready for a night out on the town. We decorated the car with window chalk and caution tape and headed out. Our first stop was the 7440 Club in Roseville. It was a blast!! We played the find that guy game and each person had three different guys to find. Some of them were Mr. Too old for the club, Sergeant Too Drunk Too Soon, DJ Bling, etc. It was a BLAST looking for these guys at the clubs (we also went to the Sandbar to end our pirate/scavenger hunt theme). At the 7440 I was asked to dance twice!! which I continued to turn down to ensure that I would never have a guilty conscience about cheating since there is still a marriage license in place. But it was really nice to be noticed again! I haven't been complimented by a male for a VERY long time so it felt great and I feel great that I have the personal strength and integrity to have turned them dowm politely and remain true to the marriage vows that I took until they are disolved. (yes this is me bragging about how great I am! But it is my blog so I get to write what I want ;) ) ANYWAY.... after the sandbar- which, by the way Chris- Incredible job on the message in the bottle to Rachel. I hope that she laminates it (as is our way) and frames it to hang somewhere that she can see and read it everyday!!! Once again, after the Sandbar we went to Denny's and had some food. When we were driving there Rachel said "MMmmmmm....I want som french fries!" So when we got there I thought that she would order something with fries. Nope. She ordered nachos with grilled chicken-thanks to our amazing waitress for making that possible- but nothing with fries. I asked her if she still wanted to get some fries and she said that she had not wanted any fries. So she didn't order any. Then when Nikki's cheeseburger with fries arrived what did she say?? "oooh! Fries!!" She says that she was joking.... but I am still not too sure. ;)

So the parties were once again a great success. Thanks to Nikki for all of her hard work and effort that she put into both of the parties. Don't believe her when she says that she didn't do much or that it was really easy. She really did work hard and put many a long night into the games and hunts. Thank you Nikki!!! And good luck Rachel!!!
