Ok. So I am sure that no matter where you are you know about the dramatic Prop 8 fight that has been going on in California. I am not going to take a stand here mostly cuz I don't want random people that I don't know leaving inappropriate comments on my blog.... selfish I know.
What I am going to do is vent about another prop that I feel was WAY more important that I didn't hear a thing about throughout the entire election. Prop 4. This prop was to place a waiting period on minors wanting an abortion and require parental notification. NOT parental consent, just notification and to have the minor wait for a period of time ( I am not sure how long). Why is it that my church (I am Mormon- and yes I can think for myself.) didn't get behind this prop and have the members tracting and making phone calls. For that matter- where was the Catholic church and all the other christian churches that were so busy with prop 8? I, myself, think that this prop was MUCH more important that wether or not homosexuals are allowed to marry. Abortion is a life and death situation. Marriage- not so much.
Why is it that they feel it is ok for a 10 year old to get an abortion without the Dr. notifying her parents, but the gay couple that has been together for 10 years can't get married. ARGH!!!! I am so irritated by this!!!
Anyone with some sort of INTELLIGENT insight is welcome to help me try to understand this!
